It is with mixed feelings,
that I’m making this announcement.
We will be putting the ZenCub3d project on-hold indefinitely.
Yes I realise that sounds like cooperate-speak for “we’re not going to be working on that project anymore”, but quite frankly that isn’t the case.
The technology behind ZenCub3d is evolving, and the development is still very much alive, but it has changed into something different enough to ZenCub3d that we don’t consider it the same project anymore. Many things considered, we decided that it’s about time that we go back into stealth mode again (or at least a semi one), and focus our full attention on this successor of ZenCub3d.
This new project retains many quirkiness that many of you have come to expect of ZenCub3d, and if you like ZenCub3d you won’t be disappointed. For all of you that have downloaded, tried, played with ZenCub3d, we thank you and hope that you enjoyed the experience; especially for those of you that have provided bug reports, feature suggestions and helped out in the community, or even made cool videos and spread them around, we’ve learnt alot from you, and to me that’s the greatest gift of all, and you have my deepest thanks.
We hope that all of you will stick around, we’ll still be active in our forum, and post on this blog from time to time. All the tutorials that I promised to write I’ll still work hard to fit them into my schedule. Feel free to come by to our forum for a chat.
The current beta release of ZenCub3d (Oct 2008) will still be available for download over the next 2 weeks, after that we’ll be taking down the link. More news and details will follow about the new project, so keep watching this space.

Mike Joyce Says:
Sounds like this a good news item. Just a brief vacation. The world of Machinima changes rapidly all around us and aving some time to re-group and check the focus on te project is not bad.
Kate and I wil certainly keep a weather eye open for the next stage in your compnay’s development. ZenCub3d is a remarkable program and we foresee only bright tings for the future.
Thank you for all you’ve done.
All the Best
Mike Joyce

Thanks Mike, you and Kate had been great supporters of us from the start, so it’s been our pleasure working with you and you have our thanks.
Looking forward to seeing more films that you guys come up with in the future.

Philip (enterprise) Says:
Took my breath away for a second, especially after losing Antics after paying for it.
But I like the idea that there is still a successor, but I will continue to try different effects and do some tutorials.
Just one question if I may:
Is there any content or anything that we can download before the work completely stops on this current version?
thanks
Philip

Billy, I’m sorry to hear this. I hope you’ll be back with this bigger and better. Will the Oct 08 beta version expire? Intrigued about the ‘new project’.

@Phillip:
Thanks for the stuff that you’ve done in the community forum, you’ve been really great with those video tutorials that you’ve made on adding special effects, cool stuff really.
About extra contents, if there’s anything you need you can still request in the forum, though to be quite realistic, the most productive thing to do is probably to make the content yourself in either SketchUp or Blender, then we’ll convert it for you into the format that ZenCub3d uses.
@Tari:
Don’t be sorry, we’ll be back; and yes, bigger and better is the plan.
We’ll be taking down the beta download link in 2 weeks, but you can use it on your computer for as long as you want, there’s no time limitation in it.

Hi,
I stumbled onto your site several months back and I have finally began to play with your program. I am very impressed. I am sorry to see you go. You have produced something very good. It is a shame that it must end.
Good luck in your future endeavours.
